Nitriding is a key process in the surface treatment of materials that improves the strength and hardness of metals. By subjecting a part to high temperatures in the presence of nitrogen, a hardened layer is formed on the surface, known as nitride.
This treatment not only increases the resistance to wear, fatigue and corrosion, but also improves the toughness of the material and achieves that the parts have a core with a certain elasticity, which absorbs shocks and vibrations, and a very hard surface that resists friction.
